We are thrilled to announce Molly Sheppard, VP of Winery Strategy at Spottswoode Estate and a sustainability leader, as the new Napa Green Board Chair.
In addition, Michelle Novi is the new Vice Chair, Beth Strachan is Secretary, and Andrew Alexander is Treasurer. They serve alongside current board members: Tod Mostero, Evyn Cameron, Will Drayton, Martin Reyes, MW, Michelle Egan, and Rodrigo Soto.
This dedicated group brings essential knowledge, diverse perspectives, and a shared passion for our mission, providing the strategic guidance and support needed to raise the bar for environmental stewardship and social equity in Napa County. We look forward to a fantastic year of collaboration!
Our strategy for the coming year is built upon three foundational pillars:
Doubling down on direct, boots-on-the-ground support and expertise: hands-on support for both winery and vineyard certification and implementation of practices that help your business and the environment
Providing practical resources and education: technical workshops, best practice toolkits, and our digital resource library
Fostering a strong, connected community: networking events, membership and knowledge exchanges, and celebrating member achievements with the broader public
We’re grateful for an amazing board of industry leaders and advisors who bring diverse perspectives, expertise, and passion for climate action to support the success of Napa Green and our members!
With Gratitude,
The Napa Green Team & Board

Open the Cellar is a Napa Valley Vintners program that helps wineries reach more consumers and sell more wine. Each Open the Cellar sale has a different theme, and for this Spring’s program we will be highlighting sustainably made Napa Valley wines. The wines will be available for consumers to purchase for ten days, April 20-30 via openthecellar.com. NVV will promote this campaign nationally with digital advertisements, e-newsletters, social media and at onsite events throughout April.
We recommend selecting a wine that may serve as an entry point to new consumers and fit within the theme of Spring sipping (rosé, white, light reds or sparkling). Here are further participation requirements:
Required to be a member of Napa Valley Vintners and Napa Green Vineyard and/or Winery certified (or actively working toward certification) or enrolled in the One Block Challenge.
Share the story of how sustainability is incorporated into this wine.
Include a special shipping offer (with an offer code or built into the SKU).
Provide a direct URL to purchase the wine and do not require consumers to enter information or log in to access your wine.
Share this promotion through your communication channels (social media or a dedicated email to your mailing list).
For more information or to sign up, please contact Kelsey Morrison Chenaux at Napa Valley Vintners.

Earth Month is crucial for our members because it acts as a high-visibility catalyst to turn ongoing sustainability efforts into tangible credibility, community impact, and verified action. It serves as a moment to validate, reinforce, and celebrate their long-term commitments to environmental responsibility.
Be sure to share your Earth Month story with your team, guests and on social media to leverage the peak in consumer interest about sustainability.
Not sure how to talk about it? Reach out to team@napagreen.org to schedule a team training session, have us talk at a consumer facing event, or share your celebrations of the earth. Don’t forget to tag Napa Green on social media to amplify your messaging.
Moo-ve over sheep! Cows in the Vineyard
Rudd Estate has introduced a herd of cattle to graze their vineyards, shifting from their previous use of sheep, in a sustainable practice that benefits soil health and cover crop management.

North Bay Forest Improvement Program (NBFIP) is now open until 2/13. This is a grant program for landowners to either get a Forest Management Plan (which allows you to apply for implementation funding) or receive implementation funding to support forest management activities, mainly fuel thinning and property hardening. Reach out to danielle@naparcd.org for more information.
Xerces Pollinator Plant Kit applications are open! These are ‘kits’ of native plants for working lands to promote habitat. We have had a number of members go through the process with only good reviews. For more information you can visit the website or reach out with questions.
Ben is available to assist with standard soil sampling for the lab, and/or assist and train your team on in-field soil testing to assess soil health, function, and microbial life. Reach out to ben@napagreen.org for availability and to learn more.
