Napa Green news

Sustainability in your business can drive profitability, create innovative solutions, and meet consumer and regulatory demands. Every brand has its own tone and voice so for your sustainability communications to feel authentic, it needs to be told in a way that reflects your brand. Training your staff on the practices that have been implemented is crucial in transparency.

Napa Green offers onsite training for your teams to learn about the practices and workshop messaging that reflects both the practices that have been implemented and responses to frequently asked questions from your team and guests.

Who needs training?

  • Hospitality: Transform your team into confident storytellers who can boost sales, demystify the sustainability practices, and build genuine connections with guests.

  • Marketing: Share authentic communication that builds brand trust based on sustainability practices that have been put in place.

  • Leadership: Top-down strategic alignment enables sustainability initiatives  to become core operational practices and shift company culture and practices.

Sustainability can be a market differentiator, but only if you talk about it! Reach out to team@napagreen.org to schedule your site specific sustainability training or join our How to Tell Your Sustainability Story Workshop on July 8th at Trefethen Family Vineyards.

We are grateful to all of our incredible members who are raising the bar for sustainability in the wine industry through continual improvement.

With Gratitude,

ZERO WASTE COLLECTIVE

What began as a series of collaborative discussions at the Napa RISE climate action conference in 2023 has blossomed into a powerful regional network. Today, this collective works to aggregate, process, and remanufacture “waste” into sustainable new packaging solutions. This initiative has grown to include over 100 dedicated wineries and businesses across Napa and Sonoma counties.

The Zero Waste Collective can accept and process: stretch wrap, label backing, tin foils, corks, broken macrobins, and now, thanks in part to a grant from Napa Valley Vintners, lab plastics and nitrile gloves!

Join the Zero Waste Collective meeting to learn more about what can be collected, and hear from Sigma and iSustain, two companies in their supply chain about their circular stretch film stream, taking stretch film from our Napa and Sonoma collections and reprocessing it back into 30% PCR stretch film.

June 9th, 2:00pm, St. Supery tasting room or Zoom.

PROTECTING YOUR ENERGY BUDGET: WHY WINERY SOLAR ROADMAP TIMING MATTERS NOW

As a proud new sponsor and supporter of Napa Green, BPi is thrilled to align ourselves with an organization dedicated to pioneering sustainable, climate-resilient viticulture. True sustainability, however, requires financial viability. At BPi, we believe your power assets should earn- not just offset- GHG emissions.

Under the current federal rules, wineries qualify for Biden’s Green New Deal tax incentives that reduce the total cost of solar by 30% to 40%. However, this window is closing rapidly as these enhanced tax credits expire on July 4, 2026. Fortunately, capturing these historic credits does not require rushing into immediate construction or upending your current cash flow. Wineries have a few weeks left to lock in tax incentives by establishing safe harbor with just a 5% (refundable) deposit. This strategic step legally qualifies your project under the current rules, giving your estate years to design, plan, and build at a massive discount.
