Hello Napa Green community,
Today’s Napa Green News focuses on three key topics, with more details below:
The lowdown on the new, cutting-edge NAPA GREEN VINEYARD program – WHY and HOW to make the transition to this leading SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE ACTION certification.
$$$ – Get START-TO-FINISH support applying for SWEEP (due January) or HEALTHY SOILS (due February) grants.
We are facing a climate crisis, and that crisis is no longer imminent, it is here. It is no longer somewhere else or someone else’s problem, it is ours. Fires, drought, increasing numbers of high heat days have all been impacting grape and wine quality.
Coming together as a sustainable winegrowing region is no longer optional, it is imperative. Alone, our capacity to resolve worldwide industry issues is relatively limited. Collectively, unified under a common goal, we can harness our political influence and serve as a force to transform the industry.

Could you use some funding to install technologies like Tule, Ranch Systems, and HotSpot AG to more precisely target the timing and amount of irrigation?
Or would you like to increase organic matter in your soil by applying compost or reducing tillage?
Napa Green’s Ben Mackie and the RCD’s Miguel Garcia and Ruby Stahel will provide START-TO-FINISH support applying for SWEEP (due January) or HEALTHY SOILS (due February) grants.
Please note, grower applicants who represent disadvantaged communities will receive priority consideration for funding (this includes Hispanic, Black, and Veteran applicants but DOES NOT include women).
