Our third RISE Climate & Wine Symposium was an immense success – 70 insightful thought-leaders, 650 guests, dozens of commitments to action. If you missed any of RISE, or weren’t able to join, most of the recordings and slides have now been posted.

In addition, Stevie Stacionis with the Resilient Wine substack, has shared her “notes” for each of the six events: https://resilientwine.substack.com/ She has done a beautiful job of capturing the content and spirit of RISE.

What’s next? Beginning to take action on the commitments we all made during RISE. For Napa Green that means a few things: This fall we will have a workshop on making the regenerative transition, and it will include the launch of the One Block Challenge on the North Coast. So, stay tuned for that. On a related note, we are planning to collaborate with Dr. Jonathan Lundgren on Ecdysis’s 1000 Farms Initiative. And we’ll be working with Randi Kronthal-Sacco at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business to try to initiate a market share study specific to sustainability-marketed wine and spirits.

LAST CALL TO JOIN CHEERS TO CLIMATE SMART WINES! CELEBRATING LEADING MEMBERS THROUGHOUT JULY

Last year, we launched our premiere “Cheers to Climate Smart Wines!” consumer and community campaign. This co-marketing program raises consumer awareness of your winery’s sustainability leadership, generates incremental sales, and supports Napa Green. All participating members need to be confirmed by Friday as we’re pushing out a campaign press release next week.

Why is this so important?

  • The five-year average growth rate for sustainability-marketed consumer packaged goods is 2.3x faster than conventional products, and consumers are paying a premium for identifiable sustainable products. (NYU Stern Center)
  • Wine consumers lean sustainable, and are concerned about personal health & safety. However, consumers struggle to identify sustainable wines, and the majority want more visible merchandising. (Wine Market Council)

Throughout the month of July, the campaign will promote engagement with the growing number of consumers that want to support climate friendly, purpose-driven wineries. 

How does it work? Choose a giveback method that works for you with a minimum donation commitment of $2000 to participate. Examples include allocating a percentage of tasting fees, tasting experiences, or featured SKUs generated in July. 

Napa Green will provide participating members:

  • June 17 | 9:30-10:30 am: Virtual webinar for participating sales & marketing teams
  • June 25 | 9-11 am: In-person Ambassador Training at Clos du Val
  • Landing page spotlighting your leading practices
  • A spotlight in an Instagram reel sharing a climate smart itinerary
  • Co-promotion with Visit Napa Valley
  • A chance to pour at a consumer tasting in SF (limited availability)
  • Direct promotion to the concierges of green lodging

NAPA GREEN AMBASSADOR TRAINING JUNE 25

Do you want to learn more about what it means to be a Napa Green Certified Vineyard and/or Winery? Do you have new team members who still aren’t sure what that Napa Green Certified sign hanging out front actually means? Are you curious about this term that’s suddenly popping up everywhere – regenerative? What exactly does it mean to be climate smart?

This Ambassador Training is a chance to increase your fluency in all things Napa Green, diving in to how we work with our members to continually level-up sustainability leadership. We’ll share studies answering the question, “Do Consumers Care about Sustainability?” And we’ll provide ideas and examples of ways to share your sustainability story.

This summer we’re launching an Ambassador certificate, making this a spotlight opportunity on your resume. To maintain your ambassadorship we ask that you attend at least one Napa Green event each year.
