The Napa Valley Vintners nonprofit trade association has been cultivating excellence since 1944 by inspiring its nearly 550 members to consistently produce wines of the highest quality, provide environmental leadership and care for the extraordinary place they call home. NVV has invested more than $230 million in community healthcare, youth development and the environment in Napa County, and is a champion of inclusivity in its community and industry.

Sometimes a capsule is more than a capsule. In fact, 100% of the tin contained in our capsules can be recovered and reused to make all kinds of things: automotive parts, electronic components, construction materials, even more tin capsules. That’s why we’re the only capsule producer in the industry with a dedicated recycling division and sustainable refining process.
Napa Recycling is the recycling, compost, and garbage service provider for the City of Napa and southern Napa County, as well as the operator of the award-winning Napa Recycling & Composting Facility. Recycling and composting help save resources, energy, and money. They keep materials out of the landfill, provide jobs, combat climate change, and “close the loop” through the creation of new products out of recycled materials. Through Napa’s convenient recycling, composting & waste reduction programs, we all work together towards the ultimate goal of Zero Waste.

The Tinfoil Recycling Project is an exciting endeavor. The idea centers on the concept of recycling tin capsules from wine bottles. TRCNB supplies participating wineries with collection buckets to recycle the tin from the neck of each wine bottle. We collect the donations on a quarterly basis or earlier as needed and deliver to a local recycling business. Thank you for Helping Teachers Help Kids.
The Wine Industry Zero Waste Collective is committed to diverting wine industry-generated materials from landfills, establishing circular economies, and reducing winery waste management costs. Collaborating with other sustainability initiatives, we strive to promote recycling and create a greener future for all. While we are physically based in the Sonoma and Napa counties of California, we seek to inspire and provide resources for wine regions globally and the wine industry at large.
