John Harris | Owner, CEO

Never idle, John Harris leads an adventurous life. Prior to establishing Amici Cellars, his business career spanned more than three decades and dozens of countries with posts in Bolivia, Argentina, Canada, Singapore and Australia. Returning to Napa, John became an active member in the community and even more active at Amici Cellars, guiding the winery from its early small production success to today’s profitable portfolio of
premier wines.

Bob Shepard | Owner

Bob Shepard has a laser-like focus and attention to detail that can be disarming. You’re just as likely to see him walking the aisles of a nearby wine merchant discussing shelf placement, as you are to see him at
a restaurant pouring Amici Cellars wines for clients. He’s made a career out of building relationships.

Melissa Devore | President

Melissa Devore’s path to the wine industry started in an unlikely place. Upon graduating from Rice University with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry, Melissa moved to Washington, DC to pursue her professional endeavors. A corporate consultant by day, she cultivated creativity and community hosting wine tastings and cooking classes at night. What started out as networking events in her living room soon transformed into serious conversations about wine.

Anthony Biagi | Lead Winemaker

Sometimes life brings you full circle, to a place you have been before. While studying marine biology at University of California Davis, Tony Biagi enrolled in an enology winemaking course for pleasure, a pivotal moment that summoned memories of small batch winemaking with is father, family gathered around the table sharing conversation and hand-crafted Cabernets. He was instantly hooked.

Matt Courtney | Consulting Winemaker

Prior to earning his degree in Viticulture and Enology from the University of California Davis, Courtney was on the path to pursue his Master Sommelier certification with the Court of Master Sommeliers. A trip to France to visit and taste with legendary producers was the catalyst that set him on a course to attain a new level of understanding through winemaking.

Dante West | Winemaker

Dante West joined the Amici winemaking team in 2020, seeking a position that blended his love of making high-end Cabernet, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Since graduating from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Viticulture & Enology, Dante has gained extensive experience working in the cellar, lab and vineyard throughout Napa and Sonoma.
