Napa Green: Pushing the Boundaries of Sustainability

You’ll learn how Napa Green’s six pillars guide leaders across the region in climate action, regenerative farming, water and energy efficiency, waste reduction, supply chain responsibility and social equity. We’ll look closely at the vineyard and winery certifications: how participants are phasing out synthetic herbicides, developing carbon farm plans, enhancing soil health and building standards of stewardship across people and place. Then we’ll taste four wines from Napa Green certified producers, each a tangible expression of sustainability blended with varietal character and regional nuance.

Heather grew up in Vancouver, Canada, where her father was a wine enthusiast and collector of the great wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. After living and studying in Japan while earning a BA in Asian Art History from the University of British Columbia, Heather joined the Japanese antiquities department at Christie’s in New York as an intern, where she was reintroduced to the world of rare wine, and went from cataloging ukiyo-e prints to completing her WSET Diploma.

After working a harvest in Chianti Classico and earning an MBA in Wine Marketing from INSEEC Bordeaux, Heather moved to Napa Valley in 2006 to work for the Coppola family, where she started the export department from scratch. Leveraging her global understanding of the premium wine industry, Heather has earned a reputation as one of Napa Valley’s most respected executives. At Spottswoode, Heather guides our omni-channel sales and marketing approach, helping to share the Spottswoode story and our wines around the globe.
