TURNBULL WINE CELLARS • PHIFER PAVITT WINE • CHATEAU BOSWELL
Please be sure to make advanced reservations.
Turnbull Wine Cellars is the perfect place to enjoy art and relaxation. Taste at their Gallery Bar, which features a renowned private photography collection, or walk outside and explore our Gallery Garden at your own pace. Guided by the long view principle of sustainability, everything they do is estate-grown, meaning they have a hand in every step of the grape growing and winemaking processes.
Next, head up the road to Phifer Pavitt Wine, where you’ll try their Date Night Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Owners Suzanne and Shane have made many of their most important life decisions on their weekly date nights, including the decision to purchase the land for the winery. The Phifer Pavitts built a sustainable environment for their team literally from the ground up, building an “eco-chic” tasting room from reclaimed and recycled materials, with recycled blue jean insulation. Their vineyards are farmed using organic and sustainable farming methods. Learn more on one of their Eco Tours and Tastings, or you can even book an experience where you’ll hear their story directly from Suzanne Phifer Pavitt, the proprietor. Phifer Pavitt won the Great Wine Capitals’ 2017 Sustainable Wine Tourism award.
Now head across the valley to Chateau Boswell Winery. An enormous valley oak hangs seemingly suspended over the doorway to the wine cave. As you walk down into the cave, 65 feet under the earth, you’ll notice the excavated stone walls that exhibit the volcanic geological history of the Napa Valley. Try Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Owner Susan Boswell has ensured that a sustainable mindset is instilled in the employee culture, with standard operating procedures that reduce water and energy use. You’ll see the Napa Green Land and Napa Green Winery logos brilliantly displayed on the Chateau Boswell Estate wine labels.
Please note: In order to protect the health and safety of all guests as we continue to be vigilant about the spread of COVID-19 all wineries will be reservation-only for the time being. It is essential to make appointments in advance and also review each winery’s posted policies and procedures before you arrive. Don’t forget your classiest wine tasting masks for entering and exiting the winery.
